Together For Health and Well-Being

In Nicaragua, our community clinic serves over 3,000 people each year. We also provide in-home care for local families living with special neurological and pediatric needs.  Our full-time nurse provides primary care to residents and manages a team of 15 local health promoters. Together, they identify the most vulnerable families so our donors can make timely investments in medicine, transportation to specialists, medical home visits, food, and even housing.  Comunidad Connect brings people together to create lasting change for all stakeholders.

Jesus Chavarria was born with a Cleft palate and an underlying genetic disorder and will have severe cognitive challenges for the rest of his life. This video is a testament to the supply chain of social impact that Comunidad Connect is proud to facilitate.

Drs. Ben and Karen Thrower first visited Nicaragua and the community of Los Robles in 2014. Their first experience inspired them to return every year and create Together For Health. This program provides medicine, transportation to specialists, medical home visits, and year-round care to families living with special neurological and pediatric needs.

CC Nurse, Enma Gutiérrez, leads the Brigadistas of the Los Robles in monthly trainings to learn and explore different dimensions of community health and health promotion. Examples of topics covered in these sessions include sexually transmitted diseases, cervical cancer, human relations, home hygiene, and mosquito-transmitted diseases.

Hear directly from families in Nicaragua who are part of Together For Health. Without their love and care of family, our generational impact would not be possible.
