Director of Community Development
Yarisleidy was born and raised in San Juan del Sur and graduated from high school as valedictorian, after having presented her thesis entitled “The Ecological Culture of Nicaragua”. She continued that trend by graduating at the top of her class at UPOLI University with a degree in Business Administration. She started with Comunidad Connect by leading our environmental education projects and today she manages all of our community development work including the emblematic Nica Agua project.
ALEJANDRO JOSE NOGUERA CASTRO
Director of Youth Connections
Alejandro was born in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua and excelled in baseball from a young age. He eventually made it to the professional level and even pitched for the Nicaraguan national team. After a career-ending injury in 2006, he was hired by Comunidad Connect to manage our youth development and athletic program. Today, Youth Connections is our longest running program, includes several sports disciplines, and has become an irreplaceable resource for the youth of San Juan del Sur and surrounding areas.

Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, Jon graduated from Centre College in 1997 with a B.A. in History. He first visited Nicaragua in 1998, returned every year thereafter, and married his wife from there in 2002. That same year, Jon obtained his Masters of Social Work with a concentration in Community Partnerships from Georgia State University. Jon and Arelis moved to San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua full time in 2005, and Comunidad Connect was founded shortly thereafter. After 10 years in Nicaragua, Jon and Arelis returned to Atlanta where they now live with their children Jon Rockett and Camila. Jon is CEO and a board member for Comunidad Connect.
Marketing and Communications Manager
Adam was born in Athens, Georgia but grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina. After graduating from the University of North Carolina Wilmington (2016) with a B.S. in Business Administration, he joined the Comunidad Connect team in March of 2017 via a marketing internship. He now holds a full-time position overseeing marketing and communications.
Resident musician and spokesdog
Coco was born and raised in the Bayou. After studying under some of the greatest New Orleans Funk and Cajun guitarists, she received a full ride to Julliard where she received her Bachelor of Music in Jazz studies as well as a Spanish minor. After touring around the world for several years, she officially joined the Comunidad Connect team following the “Live Concert to Build Community” and has been an invaluable member of the organization ever since.
