375 Families in Los Robles do not have adequate sanitation. In other words, almost 1,500 people use the bathroom outside every day. In 2024, Comunidad Connect launched a project to improve health, safety and sanitation for vulnerable families. The initiative seeks to promote human dignity and provide security for those lacking access to safe sanitation.

In Nicaragua, our Together For Health program serves over 3,000 women and children each year via the Los Robles Health Clinic. We also provide in-home care for local families living with special neurological and pediatric needs. Read more.  In the Dominican Republic, Together For Health reaches special needs patients and their caregivers in the Puerto Plata region and connects them with in-home rehab therapy and connects them with social support via partnerships with local hospitals and clinics. 

For most families in rural Nicaragua, secure housing remains unattainable. Single mothers, people with disabilities, and seniors are especially affected. In 2024, Comunidad Connect completed its 32 home construction, which generates employment, strengthens the local economy, and restores a sense of dignity and stability for families facing uncertain living situations.
