Overview

Founded in 2007, Comunidad Connect is a US-based nonprofit alleviating poverty in Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. We address critical social determinants of health, including clean water, housing, sanitation, food security, healthcare, and sustainability.

Our Cultural Connections program blends service learning, cultural immersion, and tourism, hosting hundreds of volunteers annually. Your participation supports local communities and funds our Together For Health program, which provides at-home therapy for vulnerable patients.

Discover the Dominican Republic

Not far from the pristine beaches and colonial towns, the Dominican Republic’s lush rolling hills and tropical climate offer picturesque hikes, abundant waterfalls, and coffee plantations. However, many communities in this vibrant country struggle to cover basic needs like housing, healthcare, and sanitation. Through our volunteer program, you will have the opportunity to work alongside local residents, making a lasting impact while enjoying the beauty and culture of the island of Hispaniola.
