Nica Agua
Established in 2012, Nica Agua aims to provide low-tech, user-friendly
water filters and education to combat some of the most prevalent
illnesses in rural Nicaragua:
- Diarrhea
- Parasites
- Kidney infections
In order to receive a water filter, called a Filtron, participating families must invest 16 hours of community service in projects like road repair, bridge construction, school maintenance, and health seminars. Each Filtron has a life of approximately 3 years.
The economic benefit of reduced illness is a major incentive for families to replace expiring filters at the end of the project period. Nica Agua has seen amazing success: more than 80% of beneficiaries have fully adopted use of the filter and have clean, drinkable water right in their homes.

Youth Sports
Our youth connections program provides a safe and structured
environment for Nicaraguan youth to participate in sports-related
activities. Through soccer, baseball, and volleyball leagues and clinics, youth develop positive leadership and team-building skills. North American volunteers support these projects by leading clinics in Nicaragua and donating supplies, such as uniforms and equipment, while engaging in intercultural exchange. The Youth Connections program also partners with local businesses and municipal leaders in organizing sports leagues and logistics.
